Iran Cultural Centre Colombo yesterday announced several initiatives next week to mark the 43rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
Among them are the opening of the Iran Corner, unveiling of new books and an Iranian Film Festival on 7 February at 10.00 a.m. at the National Library, Colombo.
Islamic Republic of Iran Ambassador Hashem Ashjaazdseh will be the Chief Guest. National Library Director General W. Sunil, Cultural Counsellor of Iran Bahman Moazamil and S.L. Madani will be participating as well.
The following films will be screened at the National Library from 7 to 11 February.
(Rice Cake) It is about a couple who live together after years due to their busy schedule, their emotional connection has diminished, but something happens that makes them interested in life. Director: Mehdi Hossein Vand.
(Fictions and Fact) It is about people who each have a share in an irreparable event. Director: Hojjat Ghasemzadeh.
(Every Night Loneliness) The narrator is a writer and presenter named Atieh, which is a family radio program. He answers the questions of the listeners of this program every day and advises them how to be with their spouse in order to have a better married life. Director: Rasul Sadr Ameli.
(Beluga) It is the story of adolescence. That his father fishes illegally and that’s why he gets caught. Director: Mehdi Haafari.
(Saint Mary) About the life story of Mary (PBUH) is the mother of Jesus (PBUH). Director: Shahryar Bahrani.
