Sirisena rejects former Defence Secretary’s allegations over Easter Sunday attacks

MP and former President Maithripala Sirisena has denied allegations made against him by former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter Sunday attacks.

In a press release, the former President noting that the media has given wide publicity to the allegations made by the former Defence Secretary, informed the public that Fernando’s testimony about him before the Commission was totally untrue and malicious and he vehemently rejects them.

The statement added that the former President is ready to clarify the facts if he gets an opportunity to appear before the Commission in the future.
