Six COVID-19 fatalities raise death toll to 16,531

Health authorities yesterday confirmed six persons succumbed to COVID-19 on Monday, raising the country’s death toll to 16,531.

As per the Department of Government Information, three fatalities confirmed on Monday were all females. Of them, two were over the age of 60 years and one between the age of 30-59 years. Epidemiology Unit data shows that 9,330 of the fatalities are male and 7,201 fatalities are female. 

It also said that 76.26% of the total fatalities were over the age of 60, 22.42% were aged between 30 and 59 years, and 1.32% were below the age of 30.
