Six Indian nationals arrested for illegally staying, local for abetting

Sri Lanka Police have arrested six Indian nationals who were working in a hotel without valid documents and staying in the country violating Sri Lanka’s immigration and emigration laws.

A team of Police officers from Chilaw Police arrested the six Indians and the manager of the hotel who had employed them illegally.

The arrested Indian nationals are aged between 22 and 38, while the manager of the hotel is a 28-year-old resident of Mundalama.

The arrested suspects were ordered to remand until 2 April when they were produced before the Chilaw Magistrate’s Court.
