Speaker Karu Jayasuriya yesterday told Parliament that President Secretary Austin Fernando had stated in a letter that he was awaiting the Attorney General’s advice before releasing all the documents of the Bond Commission report to Parliament.
Speaker Jayasuriya also called on all parliamentarians to refrain from insulting and casting derogatory remarks at each other regarding the findings of the bond report, especially since Parliament had yet to officially receive the full document.
He warned that such statements would only damage the respectability of the House and its members and lead to a further loss of credibility.
