Special Lectures on Japan’s ODA by Prof. Naohiro Kitano

Lecture held on 18 March

 

Guest lecturer from Japan Dr. Naohiro Kitano, Professor at Global Center for Science and Engineering, Waseda University gave two special lectures on Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA), jointly hosted by the relevant institutions and the Embassy of Japan on 18 and 19 March.

The first lecture was held on 18 March at the Miloda Academy of Financial Studies on the title ‘Role of Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) in Infrastructure Development Sustainable Growth and Fiscal Soundness’. The second lecture was held on 19 March at the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS) on the title ‘Key features of Japanese ODA in 21st Century’. 

These lectures were aimed at deepening people’s understanding of Japan’s initiatives for promoting ‘Quality Infrastructure’ and for enhancing ‘Connectivity’ in the Indo-Pacific region.

In total, 320 audiences from the Government, research institutions and media attended to receive the lectures.
