Members of the Sri Lanka Army Regular Intake 42 will today celebrate 25 years of unblemished and exemplary service to the nation.

They would like to extend their profuse gratitude to the Officer and Other Ranks Instructors who moulded them to be who they are today. Further, they gratefully remember their parents, spouses and children who have been pillars of strength to them during this remarkable journey. In addition, they recognise the services of the batch mates retired from active service due to battle and non-battle reasons.

They have achieved great things individually and collectively and have kept the Intake 42 flag fluttering high during the time of conflict and peace. Whilst being proud of what they have achieved over the years they would like to pay a special tribute and honour the lives and services of the fallen ‘Fourteen brothers’ who gave their last full measures of devotion in preserving the sovereignty and territorial integrity of their motherland.

These ‘Fourteen brothers’ of other mothers are heroes, who far from the comfort of their homes and family, put their lives on the line to make sure the rest of the nation was safe and sound. Their service to the motherland makes them relentless, in mind, body, and spirit.

As the members of Intake 42 remember and honour the proud legacy of their Intake today, they will continue to honour and uphold the same in future as well.
