World Post Day fell on 9 October. Sri Lanka Department of Posts celebrated World Post Day at Kandy Polgolla Co-op Society’s Auditorium. Speaker of Parliament Karu Jayasuriya participated as Chief Guest. Sri Lanka Department of Post’s Philatelic Bureau published a special stamped cover to mark International Post Day and the first copy of the cover was handed over by Minister of Post, Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs Abdul Haleem to the Speaker. The Postal Department’s Post Master General and officials were present at this function.
