Sri Lanka wins many trophies including 16 championship trophies at the UCMAS International Competition in New Delhi

The UCMAS Sri Lanka contingent was successful in winning 16 championships, 16 first runners up and 20 second runners up trophies at the UCMAS International Level Competition held recently in New Delhi. The Sri Lanka Team was also successful in winning the Bronze Trophy amongst the many international participants at the World Cup Tournament held there.

A total of 103 students representing the UCMAS Sri Lanka Team, participated at the UCMAS International Competition. 52 of these participants being successful in winning trophies for the country, is a case in point. “This a great and historical win for Sri Lanka,” UCMAS Sri Lanka President and CEO Vijay Sivashankar speaking at the occasion mentioned. “Our students successfully competed with more than 6,000 international competitors from 30 countries and showed their prowess. I greatly appreciate their dedication, skill and commitment,” he added. “Our vision is to give the best to our children and we took great pains to achieve this. We are committed towards giving to our island nation, children who will be tomorrow’s leaders,” he further added.

“Whilst on their return flight from New Delhi, our children were fortunate enough to meet the Sri Lankan President on-board. The President greatly appreciated the talents of our students and warmly greeted them.”

UCMAS is the world’s leading brain development program for children using the abacus and is hosted in 84 countries, through 8,000 centres benefitting over 3 million children globally. UCMAS Sri Lanka currently has over 75 active centres island wide, with thousands of children enrolled in them.
