Sri Lankan Day 2018 ready to unfold on 9 Feb. in Zabeel Park, Dubai

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Sri Lankan community based in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, will hold a unique event titled ‘Sri Lankan Day 2018’ in commemoration of the both the 70th anniversary of the independence of Sri Lanka and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Dubai. 

This family-oriented event is scheduled to be held on 9 February 2018 at Zabeel Park, Dubai from 10.00 a.m. till 11.00 p.m.

This distinctive ‘Sri Lankan Day 2018’ is enriched with an exciting line-up of activities and attractions, including an exclusive UAE-Sri Lanka Friendship Walk signifying the strong relationship between the two countries. The special day will also feature activities related to Sri Lanka’s Independence Day along with a cultural show depicting Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage, in addition to food stalls serving authentic Sri Lankan food.

The one-day event further envisages to offer Sri Lankan property solutions through experts in the field, blood and eye glasses donation camps, free legal consultations, an employment-related advisory camp conducted by the Consulate General, a special photographic competition on Sri Lankan cuisine called ‘Suupachaya’, fun-filled activities for children and families, and much more. The event is scheduled to conclude with a grand musical concert featuring leading Sri Lankan singers accompanied by a renowned musical group which will be specially flown in from Sri Lanka.

The Consulate General of Sri Lanka to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, along with the organisers of this unique event, extends an invitation to all Sri Lankans, Emiratis and people from all other nationalities in the UAE and their families to grace this special fun-filled family event throughout the day.
