The Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in New York actively participated in the annual UN International Bazaar held on 18 June at the United Nations Headquarters.

The UN premises was a hive of activity as the New York community gathered to experience the cuisine and craft products of different cultures. The Mission hosted two popular stalls at the event, one offering traditional handicrafts, spices, tea, rice, jams, chutney and other merchandise, and the other offering traditional Sri Lankan short eats and Ceylon Tea.

This year, the event was organised by the United Nations African Mothers Association (UNAMA), United Nations Delegates’ Wives Club (UNDWC) and the United Nations Women’s Group (UNWG) and was held under the patronage of Catarina Vas Pinto Guterres, spouse of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

The proceeds of the event were donated to benefit displaced persons and women and children projects around the world.
