State Fin. Min. says WB admires Govt. commitment to revive economy

The World Bank Country Director Faris Hadad Zervos has admired the commitment and the raft of measures taken by the Government to overcome the economic crisis.

These remarks were made during a special discussion held with the State Finance Minister Shehan Semasinghe yesterday, a statement issued by the Ministry noted.

Secretary to the Treasury, Mahinda Siriwardena, Department of External Resources Director-General Ajith Abeysekera, Department of Fiscal Policy Director-General Dr. Kapila Senanayake and several other officials participated in the discussion.

The World Bank Country Director has also encouraged the Government to continue on the path of further governance reforms, whilst expressing their confidence in the debt restructuring progress in line with the International Monetary Fund program.
