Ten students from the St. Mark’s Senior Secondary School, in New Delhi, visited the Sri Lanka High Commission on 21 December 2018 prior to the commencement of their student exchange program in Sri Lanka.  The team, led by Geeta Rajan, Head of International Affairs of the school, and two teachers Saranpreet Kaur and Naveen Gupta, met with High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India and the Co-Chairperson of the India-Sri Lanka Foundation Austin Fernando, who briefed the students on the history, culture and the lifestyle of the people of Sri Lanka.

During the briefing, the High Commissioner observed that these visits by schools from both countries would greatly contribute to enhancing people to people relations and strengthening social interactions among the younger generation of the two countries. The students were also provided with information on Sri Lanka through a video presentation and interactions with other officials of the Mission.

The student group from the St. Mark’s School is expected to visit Siridhamma College in Galle from 1 to 7 January 2019.
