The former President’s Chief of Staff I. H. K. Mahanama, along with former State Timber Corporation Chairman Piyadasa Dissanayake, were issued summons by the Permanent High Court trial-at-bar yesterday to be present before Court on 8 July.
The two were arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) officials after accepting a bribe of Rs. 20 million in May 2018. They are to be given their charges at the court appearance. The case was filed before the High Court trail at bar after CIABOC requested permission from Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya. (MG)
