Suspects of Kandy unrest remanded until 2 May

The suspects, including extremist organization Mahason Balakaya leader Amith Jeevan Weerasinghe, arrested for the attacks on Muslims in Kandy have been further remanded.

Teldeniya Magistrate N.M.Farikdeen remanded the 17 suspects until 2 May when they were produced in court yesterday.

The suspects were arrested by the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID) on 6 March for allegedly inciting violence against the Muslims in Teldeniya, Digana in the Kandy Administrative district in early March.
