Talal Rafi joins Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute Board

The Lakshman Kadirgamar Institute, Sri Lanka’s leading think tank on formulating foreign policy, has appointed Talal Rafi to its Board. 

Talal Rafi is an Economist and Strategy Consultant at Deloitte and a member of the Deloitte Global Economist Network. He is an Expert Member of the World Economic Forum and a regular columnist for the International Monetary Fund. Talal is a Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Plastic Innovation Network action group and he was a member of Deloitte’s global ESG operations team. He was on a Selection Committee of the Asian Development Bank #DigitalAgainstCovid-19 Innovation Series, which empowered innovative businesses in Asia to tackle challenges posed by the pandemic. 

As part of a team of experts appointed by the world leading International Affairs Think Tank, Chatham House London, Talal supported formulating recommendations for the G7 and G20 on gender equality post-COVID-19. He is an Independent Non Executive Director at the asset management firm, Almas Holdings Ltd.

Talal Rafi is a Visiting Lecturer at the Centre for Banking Studies, Central Bank of Sri Lanka on Economics and Management.

 Talal has given talks globally including at the NASDAQ Center, S&P Global and the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. His work has been published by the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Asian Development Bank, World Economic Forum, Chatham House London, UNFCCC, London School of Economics and Forbes.
