Talks between President-SLFP and other MPs inconclusive

Talks between President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and SLFP and other independent MPs yesterday have been inconclusive.

President convened the meeting after former President Maithripala Sirisena (SLFP), Vasudeva Nanayakkara (for 10 parties), Anura Priyadharshana Yapa (SLPP Independent Group) and Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe (SLPP) submitted a letter with 11 proposals including the forming of an interim all-party Government.

Sources said no concrete discussions on the interim Government took place during the meeting. However, it was agreed to meet again for a further round of discussions.
