Two final reports of Presidential CoI handed over to Speaker

  • One report of CoI probed political victimisation under previous administration 
  • The other is on alleged fraud and corruption in private institutions between Jan. 2015 and Dec. 2018

The two final reports of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry were handed over to Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena yesterday after Cabinet gave approval to table them in the House.

One of the reports is of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into political victimisation of Government Officials, staff members of Govt. corporations, members of the Security Forces and the members of the Police Department during the period of 8 January 2015 to 16 November 2019. This Commission was appointed on 20 January 2020.

The other Presidential Commission of Inquiry report was on the incidents of fraud and misappropriations which have allegedly taken place at public institutions from 14 January 2015 to 31 December 2018.

The reports were handed over to the Speaker by Presidential Secretariat Director General of Legal Affairs Harigupta Rohanadeera.
