President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed two former governors as chairpersons of state corporations.
Former Governor of Northern Province Reginald Cooray was appointed as the Chairman of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority.
Former Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province Niluka Ekanayake has been appointed as the Chairperson of the State Timber Corporation.
The President handed over the appointment letters to them on Wednesday. Former Governor of the Northern Province, Reginald Cooray and the former Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province, Niluka Ekanayake resigned from their respective posts recently on the request of the President.
