Two killed, two injured in shooting outside Mannar Court

Two persons were reported dead and two others were injured in a shooting reported on the road in front of the Mannar Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Police Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manatunga said the shooting had occurred around 9:20 a.m.

He further said that two unidentified gunmen on a scooter had opened fire at the victims using a pistol.

SSP Manatunga said the injured persons had been hospitalised following the shooting, while hospital sources have confirmed the deaths of two.

He said preliminary investigations reveal that the victims were witnesses of a case and were travelling to the Court for a hearing. The Mannar Police is conducting further

investigations.
