US envoy congratulates AKD

US Ambassador Julie Chung

In a post on X yesterday, US Ambassador Julie Chung congratulated President-elect Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his victory in Sri Lanka’s Presidential election. 

She also praised the Sri Lankan people for peacefully exercising their democratic rights. Ambassador Chung reaffirmed the strength of the bilateral relationship, stating, “We value the strong US-Sri Lanka partnership and stand ready to work together on shared priorities.” Her message emphasised the continued commitment to collaboration between the two countries.
