The research book “Vidyalaya Nalanda” will be launched today under the Governor of the Eastern Province Prof. Jayantalal Ratnasekara at Malalasekera Memorial Hall, Nalanda Vidyalaya, at 2.30 p.m. The book examines the 100 years history of Nalanda Vidyalaya in Colombo. It comprises 66 chapters and 307 sub-topics. It is published by Gunasena Company Ltd.
utilising modern printing technology. It has been researched and authored by writer and critic Ajith Galappaththi and published by the Old Nalandian ‘89 group. Galappaththi possesses a Bachelor of Art degree from the University of Kelaniya and a Diploma in Mass Communication from the University of Colombo. He is currently working on his postgraduate research in Cinema and served on various juries and institutions associated with art and media. The price of the book is Rs. 7,500, and it will be available for pre-order, along with a special discount on the launch day. The keynote address will be presented by a neurosurgeon Prasanna Gunasena. Distinguished alumni of Nalanda Vidyalaya are expected to attend this event.
