Walk-in community vaccination centres starting today

Walk-in community vaccination centres established by the Sri Lanka Army will commence operations today, with the administration of the first dose of the Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine for Colombo District residents over the age of 30.

The centres will be set up at the Colombo Army Hospital – Narahenpita, Diyatha Uyana – Battaramulla, Panagoda Sri Bodhirajaramaya, and Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps Regiment HQ – Werahera.

The centres will operate between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and persons are required to have with them proof of permanent residence in the Colombo District by way of a National Identity Card (NIC) with an electricity or telephone bill or a copy of the electoral list or residential proof from the Grama Niladhari.

The Sri Lanka Army added that vaccination for persons over the age of 60 will commence today in several districts. The vaccination centres will operate from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and include Vidyaloka Vidyalaya – Galle, Mahinda Rajapaksa Vidyalaya – Matara, Security Force Headquarters – Diyatalawa, Anuradhapura Army Hospital, Infantry Training School – Minneriya, Army Base Hospital – Kilinochchi, Mullaittivu Tamil College – Pudukuduirruppu, and Mannar BOI Building.
