The United States is Sri Lanka’s largest export market with nearly $ 3 billion out of the approximately $ 13 billion of goods shipped annually. US imports from Sri Lanka are mostly apparel but also include tea, rubber, coconut, industrial supplies, gemstones, petroleum products, food and beverages, seafood and chemicals.

Although the trade relationship between the two countries is growing and diversifying, many Sri Lankan exporters, even those with years of experience, do not fully appreciate the challenges, complexities, and even potential risks that attach to the import compliance framework enforced by the US.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on behalf of approximately 50 other federal agencies (FDA, USDA, EPA, CPSC, etc.) nor by the same token, do Sri Lankan exporters fully appreciate the opportunities and benefits that can flow from US trade preference programs such as the GSP.

The webinar will be held via MS Teams on 25 May at 4.00 p.m. (IST). To register, click on the following link below.
