President Maithripala Sirisena said that a fight against corruption to build a good country and a decent political culture will be commenced from the 10 February election.

Our country could not meet the standards of other developed countries due the prevalence of corrupted political culture in the country and in order to build a clean political culture, he would take every required step, said the President.

The President stated this addressing a public meeting held this week in Bakamuna in Polonnaruwa. Later, the President attended a meeting held in Aththtnakadawala in Polonnaruwa. These meetings were held in order to confirm the victory of the SLFP candidates who are contesting in the Alahara region.

The developments denied to the Polonnaruwa district in the past will be brought back to the people in Polonnaruwa with the support of the newly appointed representatives and speedily implementing the ‘Pibidemu Polonnaruwa (Awakening of Polonnaruwa)’ District Development Project, stated the President.
