Chief Justice Shirani Bandaranayake has announced her retirement with effect from 29 January 2015, lawyers said.
Bandaranayake wrote the announcement of her retirement almost as soon as she went up to her old Chambers at the Supreme Court, Daily FT learns.
A ceremonial sitting will be held to felicitate Chief Justice Bandaranayake on her retirement at 10 AM at Supreme Court today.
