There is an attempt being made by some politicians to reveal sensitive intelligence information using parliament privileges, the Ministry of Defence said yesterday. Defence Ministry spokesman, Brigadier Ruwan Wanigasooriya said that that the information, if made public, will put the lives of intelligence officers at risk. Speaking at an urgently convened media briefing today, Wanigasooriya said that the information about the attempt to reveal the sensitive information came to light by sources working closely with the politicians. “They are attempting to reveal the names and addresses of these intelligence officers,” he said. Wanigasooriya said the military condemns any attempt to reveal information related to intelligence officers who have done a great service to the nation. (Colombo Gazette)
