Australia stands ready to provide assistance

Australia has expressed the deepest condolences of its Government to the people of Sri Lanka who lost their lives and were injured in the adverse weather conditions which ravaged the southern and western parts of the country.

In a message to Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Dr. Harsha De Silva, Australian Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop said that the Government of Australia stood ready to provide assistance to Sri Lanka should it be required.
