Avoid these city roads

Police headquarters yesterday announced a special traffic plan which will be operative in Colombo today on account of the Victory Day Parade at Galle Face green, to mark the defeat of terrorism in Sri Lanka.

The following roads will be closed from 5a.m. until the event concludes in the afternoon:

Galle Road – Galle Road, Bagathale Road junction to Galle Face Junction.

Marine Drive – Kollupitiya Glen Aber Place to Kollupitiya Railway Station Junction.

Dharmapala Mawatha – Kollupitiya Junction to Liberty roundabout.

Sri Uttarananda Mawatha – Nawam Mawatha Junction to Maken Maker Mawatha junction.

Slave Island – Justice Akbar Mawatha, Malay Street Junction to Maken Maker Mawatha Junction.

Fort area – Lotus Road, York Street Junction to Galadari roundabout.

York Street, to Janadipathi Mawatha and Duke Street, Lower Chatham Street Junction to Sir Baron Jayathilake Mawatha.
