Ayatollah Ghazi Asgar pays courtesy call on Minister Rajapakshe

Ayatollah Ghazi Asgar – the Representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei – in the Haj and Pilgrimage and the Representative for Sri Lanka and the Maldives paid a courtesy call on Minister of Justice and Budda sasana Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe. 

He was accompanied by Dr. Seyed Hameed Reza Haqiqi from the Mostafa International University, Dr. Karimi, Cultural Attache of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as Dr. Ali Kazemi, the current Director of the Mostafa International University of Humanities, Sri Lanka branch.

The event was facilitated by Muhammad Z. Shareef, a scholar of both Islamic as well as Buddhist studies.

Asgar expressed his happiness on the freedom of religion in Sri Lanka and relationship between the people. The Minister also mentioned the ancient historical relationship between Iran and Sri Lanka of more than 2,000 years.
