Bangladesh hails Maithri, expects greater progress in SL

Bangladesh President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina have congratulated newly-elected President Maithripala Sirisena and conveyed their view that under his rule Sri Lanka will be led to greater progress. Following is the full text of the two messages. Bangladesh President Md. Abdul Hamid It is my immense pleasure to warmly congratulate you on your victory in the Presidential election of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. I am convinced that under your leadership, the people of Sri Lanka will experience greater peace, progress and prosperity in the coming days. I have firm belief that bilateral relations between our two friendly countries would be further widened and deepened during your Presidency. Please accept, Excellency, my very best wishes for your success in your high office and for your good health, happiness and personal well being.
