The Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) yesterday said that President Maithripala Sirisena should pack his bags and resign to allow a proper leader with a backbone to save the country from anarchy.
BBS General Secretary Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera addressing a media conference in Colombo said that the people were confused today about the political situation of the country.
“The country needs a leader with a backbone who has good leadership qualities. Though Mr. Sirisena is a good person he is unable to run the affairs of the country. He has also failed in fulfilling the election promises he made. Therefore we request him to resign. Even Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is a better leader because the decisions taken by Sirisena have only resulted in confusion. Today the Sinhala nation is under threat. The people are disappointed with the so-called change which is destroying governance in the country,” Gnanasara Thera said.
