BBS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dilantha Vithanage said yesterday at a news conference said that they had had several phone conversations with Deshapriya regarding this and would meet him today to make an official request over the formation of a political party. “Though we will be backing the new political party, we will continue to operate as an apolitical organisation. And in this new party, Buddhist monks will guide and provide instructions to politicians. The political candidates of this party will be laymen. However, a name or a symbol has not yet been selected,” Vithanage said.
