Bharatha Lakshman murder-linked Dematagoda Chaminda injured in prison bus shooting

An alleged underworld figure known as Dematagoda Chaminda has been injured when an unidentified gunman had opened fire at the prison bus yesterday.

Dematagoda Chaminda and several other prisoners were returning to Welikada prison from the court when the gunman fired at the bus, according to the police.

Dematagoda Chaminda is also an accused in the murder of the former President’s Advisor Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra.

The victim has been admitted to the Colombo National hospital. Police are carrying out investigations to identify the suspects.
