BIA passengers inconvenienced due to immigration officers’ protest

Large numbers of passengers at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) were inconvenienced by the immigrations officers’ protest held yesterday.

Flights in and out of the airport came to standstill because of the protest and also caused delays in flights operations.

BIA immigration officers launched a protest at noon on Tuesday against a Government move to install CCTV cameras at airport terminals. Officers suspended work as a mark of protest against the move.
