The Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption Dilrukshi Wickramasinghe yesterday said that she would not respond to any baseless accusations. Wickramasinghe made this announcement after a complaint was made against her by the Ravana Balaya Organisation accusing her of misconduct. In a letter addressed to the General Secretary of the Ravaya Balaya Organization Ven. Ithakande Sadatissa Thera, she said that although she was aware of the complaint made against her she would remain silent on the matter as the true nature of the allegations would soon be revealed to the public. “I am fully aware of the consequences of making baseless allegations. Such false allegations were made by various people even against the Buddha. But the Buddha remained unaffected, bearing the accusations in silence. As a follower of the Buddha, I will also remain silent as these accusations are baseless,” Wickramasinghe said.
