Bribery Commission files action against ex-Lotteries Board Chairman

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption yesterday filed a case at the Colombo Magistrate Court against former Development Lotteries Board Chairman Jayasumana Chandrawansa Pathiraja on corruption charges.

Director Investigations of the Bribery Commission, SSP Priyantha Chandrasiri said the case was filed against Pathiraja for violating procedures and coercing tender committee members to award an advertising contract to a firm named D2S2 in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

SSP Chandrasiri said the case will be called on 15 February and Pathiraja had been noticed to appear in court on that day.
