Bribery Commission records statement from Wimal

National Freedom Front (NFF) Leader and former Minister Wimal Weerawansa was yesterday summoned to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption to record a statement on his assets and liabilities. Weerawansa appeared before the Bribery Commission yesterday with his lawyer Kapila Gamage. Last month Weerawansa was also questioned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) while his wife Shashi Weerawansa was arrested over charges of obtaining a diplomatic passport through illegal means and was later released on bail.
