CA fixes writ petition against KP for 15 Dec.

The Court of Appeal yesterday fixed the writ petition seeking the arrest and prosecution of Kumaran Pathmanathan for his alleged involvement in LTTE activities for 15 December.

The bench comprised Justice S. Thurairajah. The Attorney General on 3 February briefed court on the progress of the investigation into Pathmanathan’s alleged involvement in the LTTE’s activities.

Additional Solicitor General Jayantha Jayasuriya with Deputy Solicitor General Priyantha Nawanna, appearing for the Attorney General, also informed court that the investigation was ongoing and a statement was being recorded from Pathmanathan.

Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Parliamentarian Vijitha Herath filed the writ petition. Upul Kumarapperuma with Sunil Watagala, Kaushalya Perera, Thanuka Nandasiri, Jayantha Dehiattage and Heshani Jayasuriya appeared for the petitioner.
