Cabinet Sub-Committee to review public enterprises salary issues

The Government has appointed a Cabinet Sub-Committee to look into the salary issues pertaining to Public Enterprises and Statutory Boards, until an Independent Presidential Commission similar to the National Salaries and Cadres Commission, is appointed.

The Committee comprises of Labour and Labour Relations (Chairman) Minister Gamini Lokuge, Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha, Water Supply and Drainage Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, Power and Energy Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka and Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W.D.J Seneviratne.

It has also been decided that the Cabinet Sub-Committee could co-opt any officials deemed necessary for its deliberations and the Secretary, Ministry of Power and Energy should function as the Secretary to this Sub-Committee.
