A case filed by UNP Parliamentarians Manusha Nanyakkara and Upeksha Swarnamali against the UNP leadership restraining them from dismissing the petitioners from party consequent to voting in favour of the 18th Amendment was postponed for 21 February.
Colombo District Judge Amal Ranaraja made this order while extending the enjoining order that was issued on the UNP restraining them from the party, on considering the submissions made by Counsel Faizer Musthafa.
The Counsel submitted that though the inquiry of the case was fixed for inquiry on Friday, the petitioners would find it difficult to attend court on that date due to the ongoing debate on the Budget. Therefore, Musthafa moved to postpone the inquiry for a further date.
