CBK meets Arjuna, assures backing to UNFGG

Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga met Ports and Shipping Minister Arjuna Ranatunga today and assured her support to the United National Front for Good Governance (UNFGG).

Ranatunga said that Kumaratunga had said that she would ensure the country continued on the path to good governance.

He said that at the meeting he had with her yesterday, they had discussed measures which needed to be taken to ensure the UNFGG won the 17 August election.

Ranatunga is contesting the election under the elephant symbol of the United National Party, which is a coalition partner in the UNFGG.
