CC gives Justice de Livera Court of Appeal nod

The Constitutional Council (CC) yesterday approved the name of Justice Shriyani de Livera Tennakoon for the Court of Appeal.

The Speaker’s office said that she was recommended by President Maithripala Sirisena and would fill the position made vacant through the retirement of former Justice P.W.D.C Jayathilaka. The CC, which is headed by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, assembled last evening within the Parliamentary premises and discussed the President’s recommendation before approving the appointment.
