Ceylon Chamber extends best wishes to President Sirisena

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, the country’s premier business chamber, congratulated Maithripala Sirisena on being elected as the sixth Executive President of Sri Lanka at the recently-concluded presidential elections and extended its best wishes as he took on the responsibility of leading the nation into the future.
The Chamber noted with appreciation Sirisena’scommitment to good governance as highlighted in his manifesto. Going forward, the Chamber said it extends its full cooperation to the President to implement these proposals and also to strive for economic prosperity for the nation and an acceptable minimum standard of living for all its people.
Further, the Chamber said it viewed the results of the recently-concluded election as a clarion call for unity and harmony amongst Sri Lanka’s communities and the need for a shared vision amongst them to ensure sustainable long-term security and stability of the country.
