UNP Anuradhapura District MP CHandrani Bandara made a special statement yesterday, refuting rumours that she was to crossover to the Government. Speculation has been rampant that Bandara would follow Attanayake to the UPFA. “The UNP is my home, I will not leave,” Bandara told reporters following the joint opposition press briefing, in emotional tones. Asked later during Hirunika Premachandra’s press briefing at the same venue, Bandara said she knew nothing of Attanayake’s decision. “I don’t know anything about his leaving. But I won’t leave the UNP,” she asserted. (DB)
