Chief Minister Wiggie hospitalised

The Chief Minister of Northern Provincial Council C.V. Vigneswaran was hospitalised yesterday as a precautionary measure following some tests.

The 74-year old Chief Minster has been admitted to Jaffna Teaching Hospital Wednesday for some medical tests. Director of Jaffna Hospital Dr. Bhavani Pasupathirajah has said that Chief Minister has to undergo several tests and he should receive treatment at the hospital for at least 24 hours. She assured that the Chief Minister is not at risk. Earlier in the day the Chief Minister has met with the United States Ambassador Michele J. Sison and the South Korean Ambassador in Sri Lanka Jong Moon Choi in Jaffna. Colombo Gazette reported that Wigneswaran had gone to the hospital to have some tests done and was later admitted to the cardiac unit of the hospital. The Jaffna hospital said that the Chief Minister was in good health but they will continue to monitor him for 24 hours, it added.
