CID probes drone use at Lasantha’s grave

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) yesterday informed the Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court that investigations had begun on the drone camera which was used to take images of the exhumation of the remains of Sunday Leader Founder Editor Lasantha Wickrematunge on Tuesday.

Following a request made by Wickrematunge’s family, the media was not allowed to enter the Borella cemetery while the exhumation was being carried out.

However, one media organisation had used a drone fixed with a camera in an attempt to capture images of the remains being exhumed but no pictures of the remains were published.
