Committee to probe AL results fiasco named

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed committee members to investigate issues pertaining to GCE Advanced Level examinations results.

Secretary to the Ministry of Technology and Research Dhara Wijethilaka has been appointed as the Chairperson of this special committee.

The other committee members include the Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo Prof. Shanika Hirimburegama, Vice Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa Prof. Ananda Jayawardena, Vice Chancellor of the Uva University Ranjith Premalal and the Principal of Royal College Upali Gunasekera.

The President has advised this special committee to conduct extensive investigations into the purported allegations with regards to the district rankings and to submit a report within two weeks’ time.
