Constitutional Assembly Steering Committee meeting

The Steering Committee of the Constitutional Assembly met in Parliament yesterday and decided to commence Sub Committee Meetings from next week and also to extend the deadline for receiving written representations , to 31 May 2016.

Chairpersons of the Subcommittees who were present for this meeting, held yesterday morning at the Parliamentary complex, were briefed on their responsibilities and the roles in respective capacities. The deadline was set to 31 July 2016 for the Subcommittees to file their reports during the meeting.

It was also decided to invite the registered political parties and professional organisations to make representations at the meetings.
