Srinath Fernando, LLM, a freelance journalist and a public affairs consultant has convened a Constitutional Law Association of Sri Lanka. The objectives of the Association are to provide a forum for public education of the constitutional law. The association seeks to promote the discipline of constitutional law in Sri Lanka by supporting teaching, research and by conducting public seminars. It also provides a public forum for the exchange of knowledge and dissemination of legal information between practitioners, law academics, researchers, media personnel, and other interested persons. The convenor of the Association Srinath Fernando believes that since there are current developments in the drafting of the new constitution, there is an urgent need for raising public awareness and understanding of the subject and he hopes to partner with civil society groups, media personnel and academics interested in the constitutional law. The charter of the association can be worked out once sufficient interest has been generated by the interested persons. Those who are interested in constitutional law may contact the convenor Srinath Fernando (Tel 072-172-3674) by email [email protected]
